Special Consular Services
The American Citizen Services section provides a variety of emergency and non-emergency services to Americans in Australia. We visit Americans in jail, assist families and friends following the death of a U.S. citizen, provide information to American citizens involved in child abduction, custody, and support cases, provide routine notarial services, and can help you register to vote in U.S. elections. Detailed information on these and the other services we provide is available via the links below.
We are always available in case of an emergency involving an American in distress in Australia via the Consulate’s telephone number.
If you have questions about any of the information on our web site, or can’t find what you are looking for, please contact the Consulate General serving your area. You may also find some of the links below useful. Many of these links are from non-U.S. Government entities but have been found to be useful by other American citizens living in Australia.
